I'm sure you'd find the same camaraderie in your German military,

1. BHD is Propaganda. Most movies are.

2. You are right i have found camaraderie in the German military, but it doesnt keep me from seeing that the people fighting NATO forces are humans as well and are often suffering a lot more than we are

Why is it that anytime someone posts something like this, people always jump on them and get all fussy and stuff?

Seriously, if you don't like it, don't watch it, or make another tribute video or whatever that you think is better.
It's not like he was saying "OMG USA iz 1337 awezome you guyz suckz" or something, he just felt like making a video about a topic he cared about. And the video was pretty good, too.

No need to make this an ideological flamewar...

Because tributes are targetting your emotions instead of your common sense and logic and I feel that our society is more shaped by movies and emotions than common sence thats why tributes are THE ENEMY and need TO BE KILLED.

Agreed. There is no reason to flame about this just because the guy who posted it is American. How would a British person feel if I called a tribute to those who died in the Falklands war as propaganda, and yelled that 3 times as many Argentinians died. Such bickering is stupid and useless.

Anyhow, I thought the video was nice, OP.

Easy there.... I was just trying to show support for american soldiers who died bravely some 17 years ago. Was it a stupid reason for loss of countless lives? 'Maybe' but that's besides the point. When I watch this film I only concentrate on the bravery, sacrifice of life, and comraderie between soldiers.

That's it.

Throw politics out the window and enjoy it for what it is. Soldiers following orders, coming to the aid and in the end sacrificing there lives for one another.... I have respect for anyone in that situation. They are soldiers not politicians.

"we're whoring up the bypass whoa-oh..."

They are willing to die for the decisions of politicians and they are only doing it because of politics. Looking at the event in 1993 itself it had a huge influence on US foreign policy since.

and now you are saying we should forget all about politics while talking about this important political event?

Thats what I was talkibng about when I said all of this is aiming at your emotion and not your common sense

I have a problem with that sastement. What if I made a tribute to the countless amounts German soldiers who died in the Battle of Stalingrad. German soldiers doing what they were ordered. Would you feel the same way????

I couldn't believe that you would because they are your countrymen.

The battles in the world war are a different matter since the people had no choice but to be there. They werent as free as we are today. If they would have said " Im not going to the military" they would have been shot.

If you would make a propaganda vid about afgahn rebells killing german soldiers I would feel the same way as I fell about this vid and condem it as propaganda

Set your hate aside for the US government for a moment.
I have a great respect for these and all US soldiers who die in service. That is it. You feel the same for Germans in service.
