Default Interstate '76, now for Win XP/Vista

I ran into this a few days ago, and it just got released.

The Interstate '76 Arsenal - GOG.com

This is a great company, they have tons of the cool old games. And they work on new systems and O/S. Worth checking out if you like classic games. Hard to beat the prices too.

Ah GoG.

If only I wasn't in Australia and I wasn't paying extorsionate amounts for data... Oh The Incredible Machine, how I miss thee.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Only played the Interstate mod for BF1942, never knew it was based on a real game

Good old times! Reminded me of Destruction Derby; did anyone play it? Used to waste hours playing that.

I used to play a lot of Vigilante 8 in my ps1 days, but this seems like a great time to finally check out Interstate. Heard a lot of great things about it. Nice value too.

to be more open and vibrant and mad.

The GOG version is by no means perfect, its kinda buggy in fact. I had to force vsync and run in glide just to stop the AI from behaving weird.

With that said, it looks pretty good in 8x AA and AF.

It works like a dream on my XP. Ok there are a few graphical glitches, like certain objects showing through terrain occasionally, but nothing too incredibly distracting. I think this is more an engine flaw than compatibility issue though. Otherwise I'm playing at 1024x768 right now. Framerates are very smooth.
That is from one of the guys over on another game forum that I have been on lately, Darkwind. From his experience, it seems to be running okay compared to the old methods.

Sparks, that screenshot has be drooling. I can't wait to get my PC up and running again so I can try out the GOG version.

I have heard about the Interstate Nitro mod for BF2, but it's still very WIP. But it doesn't look bad so far, something for fun on the side maybe.
