original rap! listen to it 24/6 Always good to hear the classics. With true lyrics. It´s sad what some rap has developed into but hey hip-hop ain´t dead. I personaly love stuff like: A Tribe Called Quest, Arrested Development, AZ, Beat Junkies, Big Daddy Kane, Big L, Blackstar, Brand Nubian, Common, Das EFX, De La Soul, Dialated Peoples, Gang Starr, House Of Pain, Ice-Cube(the old stuff), Jeru The Damaja, Masta Ace, Mos Def, N.W.A., Naughty By Nature, Odd Squad, People Under The Stairs, Poor Righteous Teachers, Public Enemy, Run D.M.C., Souls Of Mischief, Talib Kweli,... and many more (just to get a taste)

Im a huge fan of the golden era, 94 ish Hip-Hop. Coming from a life long Hip-Hop head and short term writer for the Source (aka slave laborer) i can honestly say about 90% of radio played rap today is garbage. Rap today is so uninspired and lazy, beyond that most rappers dont even try to hide the fact that they're doing it solely for money, theyre not rappers, just an image a record label believes will appeal to the market. Back in the day a lot of rappers had something to say whether it be political, uplifting or just about having a good time. Most took it seriously and respected it as an art form and a tool. Today it's whatever moves records.
