wasn't dambusters also used?

quote from wiki (i know wikipedia not a reliable source blah blah blah)

Quote:
The attack on the "Death Star" in the climax of the film Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope is heavily influenced by the climactic sequence of The Dam Busters. In the later film rebel pilots have to fly through a trench while evading enemy fire and fire a proton torpedo at a precise distance from the target in order to destroy the entire base with a single explosion; if one run fails another run must be made by a different pilot. Some scenes from the Star Wars climax are very similar to those in The Dam Busters and some of the dialogue is nearly identical in the two films. These scenes are also heavily influenced by the action scenes from the war film 633 Squadron, which depicts a fictional air raid. Star Wars also ends with an Elgarian-style march, like The Dam Busters.[13]

Hell yea. Watched it recently, very good movie.

Also I haven't noticed anyone mentioning Kelly's Heroes or Downfall (even though not strictly a war film its still awesome)

Hamburger Hill (1987)
This is a really good movie about some of the hardstruggeling (and loosing) US forces in Vietnam.
I think it depicts some of the personal stribe that manny of the soldiers went trough during the ´Nam campain.

I havent seen it, and i personally refuse to, as the Writer changed it all to be America, whereas the real crew was British, disgusting they were even allowed to change history like that, if you want to make it American, make it up.

I love the films being put in here however

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.
