Its funny how large countries like to use GDP as a barometer for everything, while small countries use GDP per capita.

I stopped caring after seeing Hawaii/Vietnam. Having lived majority of my life there, I can tell you it isnt a poor state.

Exactly. For every rich Hawaiian, theres probably 90 people from Vietnam adding up to hes level of living. GDP alone is useless.

GDP man! Plus it's in comparison to other states.

Not to mention rent is going to be way different than say, in NY.

What? I'm Russia?

I guess New York is filled with pockets of radiation, too.
(Jk, Russians on the forums)

No, but seriously, some of those don't seem to make sense.
New York City (where I live) has some of the highest rent in the country, the most millionaires per capita, and a ridiculous number of skyscrapers. (If you live in NYC, all other American cities seem small and flat. )

I can't really see how that's similar to Russia, but whatever. Still interesting, I guess.

And New Hampshire is dead-on correct. People there (and much of New England) are filthy rich.

Entertaining map, but if you take the world's largest economy (by a factor of 1.75) and break it up 50 times, no wonder each equals another nation. It is interesting to see that both the states I live in have GDPs equal to very prosperous European nations, but both those nations have far fewer people in them.
