I know of no mods, although there are a couple of map packs for it which are worth looking at. I am suprised at the Anti OFDR karma in these forums - the game is far from perfect but has great potential. Mods could realy sort it out a bit.

The dedicated server problem is the death of the game - I have to agree with that.

THe game just plain suck I mean I played 2 missions and I felt that I wasted the money after the first few minutes.

THe worst is that behind it all if you just look at the core it could have been great, but the wrapping and everything else just plain suck, you need to follow certain way markers in the game that means you are tied down and blindfolded. THe HUD is just gruesome, even if the idea isnt to bad with choosing what you want for an artillery strike etc. its a pain in the ass.

And all in all the game feels like your playing a game you wished was a better game, but your just playing its messed up little brother

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

I agree with Zimmer - the game is less than the sum of its parts which is the most frustrating thing about it. It has all the right ingredients, but the execution is crap, and design choices like no modding and no dedicated servers means the game has no chance.

They've got a big patch coming out this week, but its a waste of time as it wont fix the problems above, so there is hardly anyone still playing it. The game is good in 4p co-op and apparently there's still a large playerbase on console, but I personally don't care about that

They're currently working on OFP3 which may even come out this year - so maybe they will fix things, but tbh they have made so many basic errors in OFP2 that its hard to have much faith in them now.

pity the latest patch killed any hope for mods, the game shipped without cd keys, dedicated servers or anti cheat. initially there were a few AI mods that unlocked quite a few abilities but when cheating began going rampant the next patch killed any modified content

the game was doomed from the start when the devs realised they wernt going to be able to complete it before MW2's release. so they took the cheapest exit strategy and dumped the half finished game out to the masses in the hopes to make some sliver of money before moving on.

shame on you codemasters.

There was a post on kotaku which explained the reason why it turned out so bad.

Basically the dev team was like a revolving door (some didn't even get credited), they reworked the game about 3 times over and then pushed it out the way it was.

They Worked On The Game You Played, But Didn't Get Credit [UPDATE] - Credit - Kotaku
Im pretty sure that happens through out the games industry - it just happens to be Codemasters named in that article.

It does look like the DR team had problems though, which went all the way to the top :
