Default MechWarrior: Living Legends Beta released

Hey everybody,

MechWarrior: Living Legends is a Multiplayer Crysis-Mod that, as the name suggests, takes place in the Mechwarrior Universe.
They just released a beta version, and even though it is still quite buggy, it is already great fun. You can take control of Mechs in all 4 weight classes (each with 4 different weapon configurations) as well as Tanks, Hovercrafts, VTOLs, Aerospace planes or just a man-sized Battle Suit/Elemental Armor.

I can really recommend this, even in this early stage I have more fun than with the commercial releases. While the Textures and Maps are still a little rough on the edges, the explosions and different effects are really nice due to the Crysis Engine.

If you have ever remotely liked the MechWarrior franchise, and even if not, you should give this a try.

MechWarrior: Living Legends

Here is a nice gameplay video. I recommend muting the sound, the choice of music is.....questionable.

Gonna pick this up as soon as I reinstall crysis. I was watching this for many months, then got too bored to keep watching. Thanks for the heads up, it looks real good

It was the same with me, I once read about this a looong time ago, but then put it away because i suspected a mod this big would never see the light of day, especially with the Crysis Multiplayer Community being rather small.

Oh yes, another thing: The developers plan to add compatibility with Crysis Wars, so if any of you happen to own that and not the main game, you should be able to play this sooner or later.

Yeah, gamespy seems to be the cause for quite a lot of problems.

First things first, have you replaced the actionmaps file?

Also, one thing that is supposed to help is to create a new gamespy account on their website (gamespy.com). Then use the "create account"-button ingame and enter the exact same data you used for the account you created online.

Finally got online and played some of this today. It's definitely good mech combat fun, if you enjoyed the mechwarrior series and own crysis you should download it immediately. Straight off the spawn you can buy one of the lower end mechs, you can entirely avoid the tanks/aircraft if you want.

Short update: They just released a patch, which fixes several crashes, vastly improves sound and also has a bunch of balancing.

On a somewhat related note: There is a new commercial Mechwarrior game in the works, and this here is supposed to be ingame footage.

Been playing this for a bit now, really good, but alas my PC isnt up to scratch to run it fully. But by next week I should have my new set up in place, so i can get the full experience out of this mod
