I hear Lost Odyssey is really good. My girlfriend recently got that under the advice of a gamestop employee who swears by it if you like Final Fantasy type games. I personally dont like those kind of games but this game is 4 disk so there is plenty of content to keep to busy so thats a plus no matter who you are.

Also Oblivion with loads of mods, and Europa Universalis III if you like really complex historical strategy. (both games should last you the whole winter with PR)

I can also recommend Dragon Age. If graphics don't matter, play Morrowind instead of Oblivion. The Bloodmoon expansion is especially winter-ish^^ You might not make it till there in time though - which is a very good thing.

and im still not and never have been board of it its the best multiplayer game iv ever playe quite remarkable when i didnt like BF2 very much and the way this is a mod.

All i have to say is Fantastic Contraption: A fun online physics puzzle game and check out those walking machines - bloody addictive game - I WARNED YE!!!!

If it's a longer term thing you're after, Sword of the Stars, good turn-based strategy/RTT/4x mix.

Otherwise yeah, Dragon Age ftw.
