Wow, no other replies to this one? Pretty surprising considering the demographic on this forum.
I'm actually a bit out of the loop in the last 3-4 years on whats happened in car audio. My money goes into computers and my house now instead. But I used to drop whole paychecks into parts for my system. I worked the graveyard shift in college and all we had to do during our "lunch" brake was sit outside in the parking lot and boom. One of the guys went and got two 15s and two 12s in the back of his camaro, and I was sitting in the passanger seat enjoying the blury vision when I felt something dripping on my shirt. Opened the door so the light would come on, and realized it was blood dripping from my nose. Not sure why it happened, but I didn't hang out in his car much after that. Come on, nobody else here booms? |

If I were into loud speaker systems, I would go to a guitar store or whatever and get a bunch of large, nice, portable speakers with their own seperate fancy amps and effects controls and all of those shenanigans. Focusing on that same stuff in the car doesn't make sense to me: It isn't as portable as having large speakers and amps, your control over the system is limited to say the least, and your input options are A. Radio, B. CDs, C. If you are lucky, a 3.5mm "mp3" jack, D. If you are incredibly lucky, an iPod input, which would be limited anyways by the fairly poor quality sound that mp3s have compared to the quality that high end speakers can generate (if using a 3.5mm jack, you are limited by a mere 3.5mm analog jack). Nicer bass amp systems today can take digital input from computers or PDAs, and at that point the chokepoint in quality is on the sound file, which you would be able to adjust to your own liking.
Plus, with a amp system like I describe, you can move it into a nice, acoustically-perfect room, much unlike the interior of your vehicle. |

treble is much more harsher on your ears the bass is that’s why a 747 would have more audible loudness.
but spl (sound pressure level) is greater in side my car (in side a little area) then it would be in an open air field. |
