Smile Goodwood revival / Tangmere open day photos

Iv'e been making galleries and putting them on my facebook wall but i thought it would be cool to share them with you guys just in case you find them interesting or useful.

They are of airshows and carshows and various random interesting things.

Enjoy

Goodwood revival, in West Sussex (15 minutes from were i live) last weekend

Open day at Tangmere airfield (10 minutes from where i live) which was a frontline airfield during the battle of britain. I got to meet Billy Drake who was a group captain and a hawker hurricane pilot and survived the war to a ripe old age!

My dad went there, he said it was amazing.
He got really good seats and could see the pilots when they were landing the planes.
And that he could have spent all day in the car park looking at all the different classic cars.
If I get some of the pics off him I'll host them somewhere, looked like a great day out.

Hardware was a canon eos 1d mkIII and the very versatile canon 28-300mm L 3.5-5.6 lense with a polarising filter.

Great photo's. How is the 28-300L? It seems great for pj work but how much IQ do you compromise for that zoom range?

Thanks luizinhuu for the find

Yeah it's great if you just want to walk about with one lense but IQ is not bitingly sharp at 250-300 unless the aperture is around f9 to f11. (very similar story to my 100-400 f4.5-5.6 L which needs an aperture of f11 or higher at 400mm to get very sharp images)

Im actually a big fan of canons 2.8 aperture L series lenses really and for work i take a 24-70, 70-200 and im thinking about purchasing a 400mm 2.8 L prime. (though rumour has it the eos 1ds mk4 is coming out so i might get that instead for now)

Ugh, I'm so jealous. I'd kill for a 40D(or 7D 'drools') and a 70-200f/4 non is. I can't imagine that the 1D4 is too far off. The 7D seems way too competitive with the 1D3 at it's price point, that can't go on for too long. The 400 though... Jeez, does it come with a little assistant to lug it around?

Oh, and do you post on the POTN canon forums or the FM forums? I have the same name on both.

Thanks luizinhuu for the find
