Sony - Studio Monitor Series Headphones - MDR-V150

had them for 3 years, and although i've broken the plastic by now (due to heavy travel, and sleeping on them.... the ear peaces slide out of the adjustement plastic piece if you tug) it the sound quality is still great, and the cord is in still perfect condition. They are perfect for computer use, casual walking, and travel.

If they are just going to be used for working out, then buy a cheap pair of 10 dollar Sony earbud ones IMO. Trust me, when I lift they almost never fall out, and I get intense during my workouts. They work pretty good for the tredmill too. They of course die after a while, but you can get some good life out of them. The sound quality is pretty good too. Not the best, but of course that comes with added price.

Do not get skull candies. You are just buying overpriced average sound quality headphones.

HD 595's

Ok, they dam expensive and not very good if you use them for running/working out, but I tried a pair the other day and they were so comfortable I didn't realise I had them on, and the sound quality was incredible! Great for listening to music on the plane/PC.

If you plan to use them for PC use, a decent sound-card will make the quality 50x better. I recommend any of the Creative X-Fi range (Or the Xonar's if you don't plan to game.)

For earphones though, ColonelCool hit the nail on the head, some nice Bose one's will give exceptional quality.

Sennheiser and Bose makes good stuff. I can also recommend those in-ear thingies, really comfortable and great for filtering out background noise, so you don't have to turn up the volume so high you rupture your eardrums

Although if you're enjoying the music why wouldn't you want to turn it up? .

Creepin, true, guess that some people might not like them, but the majority seems to prefer them.
