I think its an awesome idea as well. I HATE CONTROLLERS! Giving me a Nintendo sytle 'wand' concpet will be fun, like actually aiming the gun with my hand, instead of swinging around with my thumb. A motion sensing controller opens the door for a lot of new types of games, and I'm pretty much bored with every console game...
Bill Gates is pissed he doesn't have it, because he has already created a religion out of Halo, and most of the Halo followers would consider motion sensing a sacrilege punishable by teabagging. I'm not joking about Halo being a religion. In drafting class on friday, everyone was screwing aroudn cuz we had a sub. Somebody behind me started talking about how cool the Halo 3 trailer looked. I turned around and said "It's actually pretty boring. It just shows a landscape, pans over to masterchief, who is shinier and has some more detail in the boxes on his arms, and then pans over to a landscape with ships flying over it... all with WAAAY too dramatic music playing in the background." I got about 3 "Shut the fuck up"'s instantly, and about 2 "pff you're retarded" and one "your arms are skinnier then a 3 year old girl's". Then, they watched the trailer, and proceeded to jump up and down and hoot and holler like monkeys... I have no idea why. Someone said the graphics looked amazing... this someone must not have seen any tech demos for the PS3... or even played a good looking computer game on a good computer ever before. Anyways, back to the point, Halo is a religion. Especially around where I live, its like a cult. You're either in, or you're a heathen who doesn't understand / sucks at all videogames ever. Microsoft has overhyped the games so much taht people are actually living in the delusion that Halo is a comparitevely good game... They never have a chance to experience or test out any other games or consoles, because if they do, they arn't cool... Its really sad. |

Anyways.. I think it’s a good idea for some games, a bad idea for others.. You might want a “wand” for playing golf or tennis games, you might want a joystick/ steering wheal for simulators.. and you will definitely want a mouse/keyboard for FPS’s.. why not just leave it at that..

i love it when people are playing racing games and they move the controler around as if they are flying a plane.

nintendo showed off a bunch of demos, at e3 using the wand, they had everything from mundane games where you just turned a key, or flipped a pancake or chopped a stick in half, to games like fishing, orchestrating, and driving. the driving games worked by holding the controller horizontally
hand)[---controller---](hand and then you turn it like its a steering wheel and it turns. Red steel looks cool to me, its a shooting/katana game. you aim the gun with hte controller, or you can switch to a katana, and slash people when you slash with the controller. |

the Wii does look very interesting and has some great games on the way. But thats it, really. There won't be much more other than the "Lets make another game that you do something fun in with the wand".

This is why motion thingy controllers are bad, peeps will never learn. I took me a few months, with coaching from a friend and support from my mum, but i learnt not to!! AND SO SHOULD THAY! It is a crucial part of consol gaming (not moving controller, when it make no diff), it is a skill and one of the few skiils you can get from concosl!!!!! Children need to learn! and the best way is to encourage them, not assit them in their bad ways!!!!!

it was meant to be taken with a pinch of salt, i am not really serious.
Personaly i like the idea of the wii controllers, but not so much the PS3. I could give a decent reason, but i am.................lazy. |
