What is this?
Take a look, one is a tad of a broad view of the weirdass thing and the other looks like it has a destroyed bridge in it.

I think they cut chuck norris and left him in there.
No, must be some kind of error. It wouldn't really be like that, would it? EDIT: hit the "link to this image" and post it here so i can take a look. |

It's probably just a certain type of algae or something.

There wasn't a bridge there - where are the roads running E-W which would have used it?
On the west side the bank it merely that, and on the east, there is a builing (newish looking in the way) but the bank is also steep there too. The red is either blood or a chemical agent leaked. What is weird though is that it is contained between two bridges - this suggests a man made seen - or a man made blockage. |

Take a look at the broader pic, there was a road directly in line with it,but then they started building on it

Negative - the outcrop to the south would be a more logical place for a crossing. looking at the symmetry of the other river crossings.
Also, looking at the greater magnified map lets us see the actual roads and if you look to the east there is no road leading to that crossing point, nor is the start of the bridging point wide enough |

Google dosn't take their own photos, they use sattelite images from various organizations and govenmental agencies (such as the USGS). Not all of these photos are taken with normal cameras, some are in infared, UV, and other special formats. Most of these special types are used for temperature survey, agricultural study, and biological study.
I'm thinking maybe this photo was taken with one of these cameras, and is picking up something like excess Carbon Dioxide or something coming from the water. However, if you were to go there in real life, the water is probably not really red. EDIT - WTF Maverick, it would take alot of dead babies to fill up a pool that big with blood! |

It was probably an existing road that was covered up with something, not a destroyed bridge.

Theres the link, look a little topleft also, seems to be some red stuff there too that red area renders when its farther away, but not when its closer. Also, that image was by Digital Globe I am led to believe by the watermark at the bottom of the screen. EDIT: It was just my computer being slow; but it doesn't have a closeup. |
