Default Where to find Map Maker for BF2 and mods?

I know alot of people make custom maps for BF2 and its mods, but some people have no skill at it, I've seen some crappy maps. But I'm wondering If anyone knows where to find this program, cause I've been mapping for all source based games for 5 years (Counter-Strike source, Day of Defeat source, Source Mods)

If anyone can help me find where to download the mapping program for BF2 and/or Project Reality, that would help me alot. It would also give me a chance to see how easy or hard this program is.

Also, I also use Windows Vista 64bit.

the bf2 editor can be downloaded in many places, like file planet (quick google search :P) FilePlanet: Battlefield 2 MOD Editor

Also I would advice you to browse through some of the mapping tutorials and information threads in the community modding section (a lot of technical, BF2 and PR mapping related stuff there...) . I am sure that your level design skills will be appriciated either by the community factions or perhaps the main build.

PR's modding tutorials: Modding Tutorials - Project Reality Forums
community modding section: Community Modding - Project Reality Forums
community made factions: PR Community Factions - Project Reality Forums

Have fun with it

Definitely look at that one first, few good additions from Rhino.

I found one on some site, installed it, but gave me an error at launch because I dont use windows xp. Is that really required? I'm a vista user.

The "official" download of the bf2editor on EA's site is actually the wrong one

If you're going to take mapping seriously, then bite the bullet and install XP64 either as a dual boot, or replacement OS - it will save you from a whole load of problems.

Cant do that, This system was made to run on vista, since its a brand new computer. I guess ill just stick to spilling out my ideas instead of actually doing work.

Just set it up as a dual boot - it takes a few hours but its not that hard. Theres a guide here :

How to dual boot Vista and XP (with Vista installed first) -- the step-by-step guide with screenshots

I really dont want to do that all for one program, that I have no experience in. Cause most of the games I play run better in dx10, which XP cannot use.

Right click the installer once you've downloaded the correct file. >Properties > Compatibility > Run this program in compatibility mode for > Windows XP

Then Right click on .exe and Run As Administrator. Should sort you out.
