2 of my favourites, I'm surprised they haven't been mentioned yet. A Bridge Too Far.

And I definitely agree with Spaz about The Longest day. It's an oldie but its the kind of epic you don't get these days without the help of CGI. My favourite scenes from that movie have to be the ones with Lord Lovat, his Commandos and Bill Millin "Piper Bill." BBC Story Bill's personal account of the day. Sorry I've gone a bit off topic  Here's a clip from The Longest Day.
