I dont see it catching on, if all a kid needs to do is put in a different power cord, if he is smart enough he will just go to the shops and buy one for a few quid and then hide it away from his parents, when he wants to play he will just swap it out with the other.

My dad use to lock the room to the computer when me and my bro where young, but we simply out smarted him by unlocking the window and once he thought that we couldn't play on the PC, we would just sneak in though the window and play it anyways. Of course he found out eventually but when he did he just gave up

I remember my parents tried something like this on me.

SoftwareTime - Home

They put it on my computer one day while I was at school. After about a month of dealing with it I got sick of it and decided to figure out a way to "break it" and keep it from starting when the computer started up. Which I eventually did. Of course my parents found out and confronted me about it.

I just think that it is a pretty bad idea to limit the time your child spends on a computer via some sort of device or program. If you don't want your kid playing on the computer because they've been playing for a long time just tell them, if the kids respect the parents they do as their told, much like I do.

To wrap up my story, all I did was ask them why I required some sort of timer on my computer. Seeing as how I am a fairly athletic person, am on my schools track team, and most of my time is sucked up by homework and projects. They couldn't think of a reason to keep it and just decided to take the program off my computer.

Parents should just be more vocal with their children. They should stop placing arbitrary limits on them without any sort of warning. The only reason this sort of device should be used is as some sort of punishment, and not as a way to "promote a healthy lifestyle;" I know plenty of people who play videogames for long durations of time, and they are still healthy people who, the majority of the time, can bench press much more then I can.

Edit: Found this quote under the satisfied customers page by the way, "It's easy to use. I can't shut down using task manager and can't remove by start-up using msconfig or windows services, this is good!"

Funny thing is, you can shut it down through the task manager.
