I'm more interested in the story behind this, and where it finally ended up. Seized in Ar Ramadi in '05.

Should work for your now Okita, I've hosted it on my photobucket and edited EB's post.
The SSG isn't exactly a new piece of wonder kit that hasn't found its way into the civilian market now is it? While it could have (and, tbh, probably did) come from an Army armoury somewhere in the region theres plenty of other places it could have turned up from. |

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

i know one thing : With mouser 98 you can have pretty good kill at long distance if you know how to handle it and after zeroing the scope (which takes time )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gTKJ...eature=related But with SVD scope it wont be a problem so i think the guy made it did the best customiztion somebody know how they mounted SVD scope? and BTW Israel modified ww2 german mouser

Most likely they shaved down the stock to accommodate a soviet dovetail -- which would then be welded into place. This would explain why the scope protrudes so obscenely high above the bore-line. There are civilian aftermarket mounts that work for large-ring Mausers and afford a lower mount of a PSO/PSOP scope -- but they also weigh about 2 lbs.
I imagine that giant cylinder functions quite well to reduce the muzzle signature of the rifle. That Marine has a face only a mother could love.. Not like IronComatose.. -REad |
