Application is submitted for October 2010 class. Just got off the phone with Officer recruiter and he told me all I have to do now is keep getting in better and better shape.

He said he's got all he needs from me and that if I haven't heard from him come mid-May that I should get back in touch with him.

God, it's a scary feeling coming up on graduation and not having a job lined up... and having to wait until into May to even hear back. Even more so knowing that this is what I want to do and that it's a big investment.

So, now I just have to sweat it out [figuratively, and literally in the gym]

Hm? Maybe I wasn't clear. I just submitted the application, haven't been accepted, and haven't taken any PFT yet That's the big reason for needing to keep working out, because I haven't gotten ANY score yet. Its also the reason why Im on edge all the time now. People saying "Oh I lined up a job here and there, what are you doing after?" And Im like, "Well, Im applying for Marine OCS but... won't hear anything for several months yet"

Though I'm already also clearly decided that if for some chance I DON'T get in the 2010 Fall class, I will ask what was weak in my application and reapply for 2011 May class. let me stress though, this isn't about any doubts I'm having, just trying to get some solid future planning. As best as one can plan for the future, I mean.

Ill post up as soon as I do get as score though. Although, to be honest, I'm surprised he says it wouldn't be til May... Id figure they'd want to at least get a score on the books for me...

You sure he actually sent in the application? I was 98% sure they needed a PFT score before they send in. I'm prolly wrong though. Good luck with the selection board was what I meant :P

I sent in the app to him. He, Im fairly certain, didn't send it in yet. As far as I know, its still pretty early for needing it all submitted for the Fall class. Just a month or so ago he was still saying I could apply for the MAY 2010 class

So that leads me to go with the logic that: its still early yet, no reason to test me just yet[?], might as well give me a few months to get more fit and then test me then. And then if the number happens to be a bit low, then we can work on it and get it up over the following months.

Of course, the plan is to stay in shape and hopefully better my scores from now til then

That's my path, except that I want to go to PLC, not OCC like you. I think you should go for it man! Worst case scenario- you don't like the Marines, i'm sure you can go reserve after 2 years. Then the rest of your life will only be awesome- being a retired Marine Officer.

DO WORK!

and good luck.
