No, iPlayer is region-limited. Unless he got a UK proxy on the go he couldn't access it.

Joke or real, either way I imagine it'll be funny. Maybe whoever the stig is - if it isn't some alien from another planet - has just got bored or has to tend to other things... That or it's a good way to boost ratings xD
