I used to do the fan method as well until I got my new computer which is using the P182 case of which I have had zero problems with my computer getting too hot.

My word, I hope you don't have any problems with all those plugs. Maybe I'm too paranoid, but that wire setup looks pretty dangerous.

I like seeing how people care for their comps, and a new cooling method is always fun to see. And are those Milk Duds I see on the table?

I always thought wiping down every inch of dust on my ol' dinosaur of an ASUS would improve performance and eliminate overheating crashes. I don't think it helped much. At least I had a squeaky clean comp, and the placebo that came with it.

By trying too hard, we put ourselves at a greater risk. Don’t you think so?

50C idle is pretty high, I never let my CPU get higher than around 60C

Exactly. I'm running a p182 case as well, and helped a dozen other guys build a new rig with it and they are all happy as well. Keeps thing super cool, even with running just the 3 stock fans. Has room for 2 more but don't need it. And I run the fans on low, even though there are easy switches on the back where I could go up to med. or high.

Best case ever for the price.

I'm not sure, but my CPU never gets above 32C idling. This is also during the summer.

Best solution instead of taking the case off, just casemod with a 20cm fan on the side of your Pc, akasa do a range and just mount it with some long bolts. Dead easy.

Oh and you need to get rid of that art-deco lamp. Something tells me that was a gift?

I'm thinking an outdoor-air mod considering your PS is so close to the window. The sun shining on your case won't help you much either during the day
