Thanks for the comments so far, If any of you are wanting to donate we have a team donation site, though Just giving they are a Government backed sceme, and we pay all our funds into this account it means that not only is there a list of who has kindly donated, but the "Not Forgotten" Assosiation get all the money donated and also get the extra Gift aid also.

I have not long got back from my run this morning uhhh and man it`s seems to be getting harder every day the distance is increasing, i left at 0600 and ran 15 miles approx, a few more days before we leave so a few more miles needed to clock up.

Last few days before the event we are leaving on wednesday to the Union Jack club in London were we will meet the other teams competing and receave our final brief from the organisers. This is also a great change to chat to the teams to find out tactics ect, we will be attending the pasta party before heading of for rest before the race start.

There is a lot of admin to do before hand to ensure we as a team can look after our selfs throught the day the days are cut into three, the first being Thursday 4th June after check in and the safety brief the Cheif of staff and the Mayor of London will pose for the media before starting the race, 0930 the race starts and we must cover 32 miles in this day.

Traning is going well so far must is getting harder by the day I dragged myself out of bed this morning but felt fine after a few miles, though I must admit I have to leave the dogs at home they no longer enjoying runnning with me!

Now this type of association really needs a lot more government attention, economical and public-relation-wise that is.

A great cause your working on Joey; I hope you will receive everything you need.

To my knowledge every NATO member-country shares this problem, where too little political attention is deployed on those who served in operations within the frame of the alliance.

The sad outcome of this lack is the same in every country; veterans are to some extend forgotten and left out of the civilian systems – education, labour and social-wise.

NATO is in general a fairly rich alliance. It has the money available to maintain relatively huge, active military systems using relatively fair soldier-salaries/conditions too.

But when the wounded/disabled soldier leaves the military system –the civilian system takes over. And…well…that’s where the lack comes into the picture. A civilian system often having no clue about the problems the soldiers are dealing with.

I have two questions

- Does the lack of attention mean that the problem is basically too big for the civilian systems in the individual member countries?

- Should NATO it self, be the system deploying the economical and public relation focus instead of the civilian systems?

Gonna start posting this association on all the boards I am a member of, see if I cant get some people helping out.

Mad-Mike - Good photo's but why do u have 2 threads that are the same?
[R-CON]ReadMenace - Are you referring to the obvious double-post or the less obvious, high-resolution military photographs thread?
