Good decision though, thats what i was aiming at for ya. Although if you are a gamer, you will be upgrading to Vista, unless you are leaving the PC as a gaming platform behind. I hate it much as the next guy.

Well Maverick i love my 7800, and would suggest the 7900 but after several problems from other companies i will only buy my video cards from Evga, some companies void your warranty for overlocking and even underclocking, Evga on the other hand doesnt.

Another vote for EVGA. Just to keep things fair, they do have the problem of their cards crapping out, which is fixed quickly, but is still a pain in the ass. By crapping out i mean overheating and productiin artifacts (visual effects cause by the chip throttling). But i think this is a problem with nvidia in general. Not to scare you off from nvidia though, as this is a small problem.

just buy from a store that offers a very good return policy such as Newegg or else take the EVGA route or theres always the option of buying 3rd party insurance on your entire system

Plus I read that you will only need D10 card for vista - and i'm not getting that piece of ****!

So - now we get back to the question at heart - what card do I go for?!

My graphics card is just embarassing compared to all these ones you're talking about. Hopefully after my exams I can get some comp upgrades if I get some decent grades, but I think I need to visit the RAM department first, all my other specs are above the recommended specs for BF2.
