LIES! This tech has been available for a long time yet, but was radically supressed by the gaming-lobby!
Take a look at Mirror's Edge. They managed it, but it was a close call. Even after release, the lobby nearly managed to overrule them by circulating another version of the main protagonist: Faith in Mirror's Edge
