PhotoShop ( advice / crits / showoff / request ) Thread

Just curious, but i really wnat to get back into photoshop as a hobby, some of you guys have some serious awesomeness, i'm just wondering if there's anywhere I can go to learn the basics of typography, cut outs, mini logos, tags and some basic effects that i can use in posters and what not.
Also where is the best place to grab resources that aren't copyrighted, also how long do you guys generally spend on making an image?

Depends on the image I guess, if you're going to make matepainting, painting, photo editing... these kind of stuff, can take from 10 minutes to 10 hours really...
I usually spend around 5 hours to make a poster tho, a flyer can be done in an hour if you got the idea, a logo is quite fast but the idea is much longer to find.
As for places to learn... mines are in french, wont be very helpfull, but I'm pretty sure you can find some decent stuff by googling "photoshop tutorials".
Can't help on the resources thing.

It's in my sig alright but sadly, not made by me. I just added a caption saying masterceo. The guy who actually made the drawing is this guy Tebe Interesno. I suggest you guys check out his work, some of it is really brilliant, and some really random.

And by the way, the reddit version of that comic has wrong captions. In the original the second guy replies as in my sig "Room is clean".

Nice pictures, the first looks somewhat unfinished though, not sure why... could be the contrast of colors or the plain black background...

REQUEST:
i need logo to my musical project.(melodic deathmetal)
Project is called Dying out loud.

i like it if its quite simple but unique.
maybe there could be raven in somewhere on text.
and the d-letters could be different from other letters

if someone have time to do it,it would be just perfect.
we dont have any music online yet but we need logo first and me and my friend just suck at photoshop.

My new sig... problem is i fid it hard to put more over the top stuff in it...so any ideas... glitter, lens flare etc?

Make some cartoon copies offset behind him and make him stand out more from the background color.
