Cartoon Network gets into Chuck Norris joke

Cartoon Network has broken Chuck Norris' mercifully short-lived cartoon out of the catacombs beneath Hollywood where has-been celebrities and shows/films too bad even for American audiences are sealed until resurrected in unholy rites by Quentin Tarantino, Scientology or running internet jokes.

So, those of you too young to remember it, or if it just wasn't syndicated in your area, and you're feeling masochistic, you can catch Chuck Norris' Karate Kommandos at 530 AM Eastern and Pacific on Cartoon Network.

Or you can watch an episode here:

The Saved by the Bell thing would have been funny if they had shown it at some ungodly hour like the Chuck Norris cartoon, but its right in the middle of their block of programming and I can only imagine how badly this hurts the already suffering anime section of [as] that comes on afterward.

no kidding, action anime is really the only reason for [as] in the first place, now its even less worth watching - I mean, futurama, boondocks, and stroker and hoop are funny, but just dont compare to action anime (in overall quality or the hilarity of watching Vash and Miroku try to grab a girl's ass and get smacked)...

Don't forget about Lupin III LOL. Eh, I'd have to say Cartoon Network is getting a bit...lame and dorky. Ok, maybe it has been for some time.

I remember the first time I got hooked on [as] during summer about 5 years ago, and watched it every chance I got, being out of high school and into college (well, crappy community college anyway) and having class 2 days a week, I would watch it every night - but now like I said they screwed up the good schedule and lineup they had, so I spend my time better sleeping now...

btw: does anybody remember *before* [as] when cartoon network had that toonami thing all-night - I think the midnight run or something? iirc their catch-phrase was "sleep is for the weak"...

I wish Cartoon Network were more like it used to be when it came to daytime programming; fun old shows you remember from your childhood or teenage years, like GI Joe (none of that Sigma Six or Extreme bullshit), SWAT Kats, Pirates of Dark Water, etc. Now those shows are on Boomerang. I liked Johnny Bravo and Dexter's Laboratory, but now they have all the worst of the leftovers from the Warner Brothers network; i.e., whatever cockfighting seizuremonster show is the flavor of the year. Although I thought Cartoon Network's update of Masters of the Universe was pretty fun, especially since they brought in some of the writers from the old cartoon to do episodes that ripped into the old show.

All of the DC Comics-based shows except The Batman (new one) and Teen Titans are either good or fucking awesome (although I prefer Justice League before the JLU seasons), but they don't show the old ones anymore. Oh well, at least I have all of Batman TAS on DVD.

The trouble with Adult Swim's anime block is that they've started to exhaust all the good shows and are importing the stuff that's lame. Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo are awesome, but only 26 episodes each, so there's only so many times you can see them. When they brought over Case Closed and Paranoia Agent I wanted to puke. Hell, I'd love it if Adult Swim could get the rights to City Hunter, even if it is 20 years old; it's still less dated than Lupin III (no matter how they try to rewrite the dialogue).

Well, cartoons pretty much always have been, even the new ones just incorporate new stereotypes. But thankfully, you're probably too young to remember most of the 80s ones. Karate Kommandos was probably made by the same people who did the Mr. T cartoon. Damn, I'm old. :P
