thank you guys. your advice goes a long way for me. Coderedfox, i have taken your advice onboard, and now i have a direction to explore.

Above all choose something while useful, that you enjoy. Maybe its not the best choice, but you have to enjoy it.

Otherwise you could end up hating it more and more and it gets even harder.

Come and join us in the community modding section. There you can get a taste and see if it really is something you want to be doing in the long run, sometimes dreams arent that fun when you have a chance to fulfil them

Pick a subject and like fox said "just do it"

a lot of us in the community section can help you get started with tutorials and such.

Go for it and good luck mate
