That final battle was amazing [Spoiler MGS4]and the cutscene before, the way Liquid and Snake injected each other so they could fight it out, and the different health bars during the fight, and just the music... Stunning. The credits with "Big Boss" and its like, eh? He never spoke... and then BAM. [/Spoilers]

You didn't hear? They have plans for it, and Hideo Kojima is screenwriter. And THANK FUCKING CHRIST!!!!! they told Uwe Boll to go unfuck himself and jog on when he said he wanted to direct.

No real timeline for it, but I'm hoping they leave it just like the first Solid - Because that game was, and still is, epic.

my experience with mgs:

mgs1: was awesome, and still is as long as i don't play it and see how bad it looks. funny characters and a fresh game when it came. psycho mantis is the shit.

mgs2: i didn't mind raiden, and the gameplay was still great with amazing graphics at the time. i mean they still look good if i sit down with it.
but my eyebrow left a hole in the ceiling when <SPOILER MGS2>they started to talk about some weird, conscious entity in the white house and revolver ocelot (awesome character) becoming liquid after using liquids hand. what a piece of rubbish.</SPOILER MGS2>

mgs3: didn't play it for some time. when i tried it, i had been playing stealth games with great controls on the pc, like splinter cell. the controls and camera bugged me out (wasn't the subsistence version with better camera) and i didn't enjoy the really limited forest much at all. the boss battles were cool as always but i never finished it.

mgs4: haven't played it but i would if i had a ps3. seems like a solid game... or interactive movie or whatever you wanna call it! ;D

Alright time to get a little more into this. I used to be a big MGS buff, but it kinda wore off on me. I really want to play MGS4, but I don't have or know of anyone with a PS3. Not to mention I'd want to sit through it all and watch and experience it.

MGS1 was the first one for me. It was pretty awesome. Some parts were weird, but it had a good "puzzle" and combat combination for me. More importantly, it had characters and bosses that I could distinguish and understand. Before this, I played a lot of strategy and RPG games(and a lot of general popular games such as Mario).

But then MGS2 came out. At first, it was odd on the tanker. Then after a little while longer, I was kinda confused at what was going on. And then at the end, it all came back together. I was confused at what was going on, because I was supposed to be confused. Like MGS2 was just odd initially until I had the rest of the story sorted out, and then it became amazing. I believe that the player WAS supposed to be confused and not understand what was going on. The player is supposed to play the game because it(MGS1) was amazing, and the player is following up on such because s/he had known it was awesome. (and if you "think" enough, such an idea is done through Raiden)

MGS3, well, it started off amazing. The boss fights between the Pain and the spider dude were kinda lame. Fighting the Fury was kinda cool, but in general it was pretty crap. But the ending was key. I bet a lot of people don't fully understand the concept of it, which takes away from some of the story, but it was kinda deep. And by that I mean Metal Gear games have had that social commentary presented in such an awesome fashion.

Hope I made some sense. If not, well ther'es tomorrow. Also I forgot how to do spoilers so I pretty much omitted them except in the most general non sensical terms.

Also, supposedly they're makin a movie. Could be good and bad news right there!

Sh*t yeah! MGS is the most awesome game series ever made.
I played all four games on four different consoles, and I still got the plot somehow

1st MGS the twin snakes on gamecube (which is basically MGS with better graphics)
2nd MGS 3 Snake eater on PS2 (which was just effing awesome!)
3rd MGS 2 on PC (I found it rather meh, but it wasn't bad!)
4th MGS 4 on PS3 (which I sold recently =D)

The whole story, with its connections to real life but then again its own, freaky sci-fi moments (come on... a machine that's 20 meters tall that can walk? xD) just brings the player a brilliant mix! great play!
