No idea, but i'd change you're title, it looks like you're debating that itunes is a better format than WMA.

I use "Noteburner" It's a virtual CD burner so it converts files to .mp3 and saves them on your hard drive.

How to convert iTunes 8 protected AAC(M4P) music to MP3 with TuneClone « Convert DRM protected iTunes M4P music to MP3
(Tuneclone is a version of Noteburner)

That's how I converted all my songs to .mp3 when I got a Zune.

Yes, convert from Ipod format to whatever format you want via the tens of thousands of programs designed to do so.

I believe http://handbrake.fr/?article=download converts AAC to most formats

If not an alternative is http://www.zamzar.com/

Changed title for you.

However, I am computerically challenged and haven't the slightest idea how to do this sort of thing.

Ive been using Format factory for a few months now for both full on movie files and music files, it works great. has a lot of specific options as far as what to play on, like psp, ipod, etc.

Though im not 100% sure it has wma, but im pretty sure... wma is pretty common...
