who says you have to kill someone if you shoot?
and there are a lot of effective law enforcement applications that i'm sure you could get on dvd or attend courses for.

Why not? It is an interesting point for discussion and intrinsically linked with the subject of the thread.

Re: Turned 21, bought my first Pistol

Because, as it stands now, the argument is moot.

In my country, state, county, and municipality, I have the right to purchase firearms, to carry them concealed if I purchased a license, and to use them in defense.

Anyone saying I should not do so has no merit because it is my choice to exercise that right, and I chose to do so and accept the responsibility of my choice.

If you do not want to own a firearm, that is your choice and I do not dispute your right to choose to not to. I ask that you do not dispute my legal right to do the opposite.

Everyone wants to easily kill their opponent but nobody wants to be the one easily killed. That line of thinking escalates weaponry to the point where practically every soldier has a shoulder-mounted nuke launcher that when fired, automatically displays the text "pwnt". -- [R-CON]Wolfe ____ Detroit Red Wings 26-7-5 _______ NOOB PR Tester

That is like me saying that I want to drive at 150mph through town, if you don't want to that's your choice, but you can't dispute my legal right to do it (hypothetical obviously as it is illegal). This could and should be disputed because sometimes public safety is more important than personal freedoms. (Note I say sometimes, I myself have no problems with US citizens owning concealable weapons, maybe that would be different if it were legal here!)

Because we discuss policy in the "News from the Frontlines & Political Debate" section of the forum and not in off topic.

If you, or anyone else wants to debate such matters you are free to in the appropriate section.

Consider this the thread's last warning. No more discussion of political matters here, if you want to debate the issue please do so in the appropriate section or not at all. Thank you.

don't be silly. it's not physically impossible to carry a concealed weapon without using it by accident.
150mph thought a town presents hazards beyond your control.

hypothetical

1. Of, relating to, or based on a hypothesis: a hypothetical situation.
2.a. Suppositional; uncertain.
b. Conditional; contingent.

I dont get it, what are threads like these useful for if not letting the discussion take its natural way.

We can only congrats him to his new gun and thats it. Ok we can also discuss technical data about it. Thats all...

In the end you cant discuss anything anymore.

Exactly, I really can't imagine anyone in conversation reprimanding someone for not sticking to the original subject, despite the fact that it was a natural progression from the original subject, and one that seems to be of interest and encourage debate.
