Re: Quitting PR, games all together

Funny thing is that I've left gaming (and PR) months ago and I'm still lurking this forum daily hoping to get an update. I think I'm addicted...

I don't. I stopped paying for TV about six years ago*. Anything decent is on the major networks which you pretty much get for free and anything else is available for rent via Netflix.

*Technically two years. Cox Communications, my ISP at the time, had a deal where I could get ten dollars off my monthly bill if I subscribed to one of their TV packages. As a result I picked the ten dollar basic package to go along with my internet access. Makes sense. However the only reason the ten dollar package existed was because wireless reception (anything) sucked really bad where I was at so it was manadated that they offer a cheap basic subscription package.

Good luck with this "Real World" that people speak about.

I once quit a game cold turkey after becoming very addicted too it. Didnt play for 2 years...saw an ad for it and loaded it up again...DAM YOU WORLD! I'm addicted too this very annoying/great game again. Someone help me.

Yeah mate, I 'gave up' gaming when I got back to uni...

I can't actually play because my internetz sucks, but I still roam the forums etc and keep up with gaming news because during the xmas hols and summer hols I'll have time to play again.

Good luck with RL

UnrealA, why give up? Why not actually just make that balance between work and play? Buddhism teaches us that life is best lived through a balance, that extremes of anything can lead to discord.

By forcing yourself to do something in a very abrupt manner and by switching from lots to little, you make the transition much harder on yourself.

Reduce your gaming time, or allow yourself only to game after having completed other tasks.

RL and the internet aren't mutually exclusive, and it's foolish to try and force them to become so.

I just wanted to say PR has probably been my favorite game and you guys did a marvelous job on it, all on your own free time. Uninstalling PR will certainly not be an easy thing to do willfully :P

Hopefully I get myself back on track and come back sometime in the future.

Take care and thanks
