re: [Help] Need help building a Computer

if money is no problem get this case instead:

Antec P182 Gun Metal Black 0.8mm cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail

I use the 180 version which is basically the same thing, but older and its beautiful (newer graphics cards size might be a problem check measurements first and foremost).

Also get the PSU from the same company as the case, meaning Antec at around 550~600W.

Aslo if your gonna go AMD you should go ATI cards and if you go Intel go Nvida.

Why?

Here are my suggestions. Comes in at $931.

Good luck with your build

thats worse actually lol.

I'd stay away from Phenom. Plus I'm pretty sure the AC Freezer 7 Pro is not compatible with Phenom, but it's a decent heatsink/fan. Go for a Q6600 or the Q9 series from Intel.
The Antec P182 really is a great case.
Don't get a cheap power supply, go for quality, a 550 or 520 Corsair would do nicely. They're very quiet too. Cheap power supplies are for cheap computers, you dont want one blowing up and taking the rest of the computer with it.

re: [Help] Need help building a Computer

My build

Case: Cooler Master RC-690(very roomy, great airflow, easy to use) 75
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases

Video: VisionTek HD4750 512mb (has good warranty, dont get sapphire their rebates suck)
Newegg.com - VisionTek 900244 Radeon HD 4870 512MB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

Motherboard/CPU: Asus P5Q Pro with Intel E8400 C2D 3.0ghz (you get -30$ if you get these 2 in combo)
Newegg.com - ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards
Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops

Power SUpply: Corsair 550 watt, great powersupply, quiet and efficient.
Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W ATX12V V2.2 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies

Everything else the same. If you have good headphones/speakers then I'd get one of the more expensive sound cards, otherwise stick with onboard sound.

Agreed, but if you do decide to get a seperate sound card, STEER CLEAR of Creative X-Fi. I've had nothing but trouble with mine; I've given up on the Creative brand altogether now.

Sorry for derailing, but what would you recommend as an alternative?

I had Audigy SE before. Nothing but trouble...

Turn 360 degrees and walk away is what you should do tbh.
