I've got a 4 year old sister and I see her making the same mistakes I did. She's watching way too much TV(though at least it's shows like Batman), she's already mastered the computer just from watching me do it. She can browse the internet and start games already...when I'm playing PR, she's often sitting next to me yelling into the MIC things like "Hey buddy give me a ride" and trying to get a hold of my mouse to shoot someone.
Unfortunately she still doesn't know how to read or write. I feel like she's getting into the wrong type of things at an early age =/ Do you guys have any tips? What can I do to make her want to learn? Or is that a fool's errand and I should let her grow up more first? |

Read to her, don't let her see you play death games. But that would require you changing, or more importantly your parents actually being parents, not going to happen.
EDIT Don't listen to me, it will only bring demerits. |

It depends on what you want her to learn.
Learning to read is long process. Start with reading ABC books with her to make her understand the connection between letters and sound. ABC memory game is also fun and educational. Main thing is that you take the time to sit down and play with her. I´m also glad to see a young dude caering about his little sister. That isn´t always the case unfortunantly. Just keep it up and i´m sure she´ll turn out just fine. |

my friendly advice is to let her play doom 3, let her Watch the SAW series, put her on a military school, show her the zombie mods for cod4 and cod5

Change your interests and her's should follow suit. They're curious about what you're doing and not so much about life in general. Children that age are still pretty much "monkey see, monkey do". Oh yeah, and allow them to exercise the power of choice--kids love being able to choose.

Bird's and bee's speech?
But what I would suggest is playing around with her(no sexual comments at that please...pervs...) and just letting her be 4, not trying to make her older than she is. This is the computer generation(my generation in some ways) and if you don't want her to do that, then don't do it yourself as much |
