yes its true u get weekends off. and its like a normal work day (off at 5) and if its possible i would take ur car...be the party man on the weekends and be a taxi too, for a little bit of extra cash. rucks in airborne school are a joke. its filled with like a pillow of something lite. when and if ur going to an airborne unit i had to usually jump w/ 80+ lbs. i was an F.O. so i took everthing an infantry guy took plus my radio and extra batteries and extra radio equipment. and dont worry bout checking ur chute...it'll be fine.
