Well it is, most tanks tend to sink rather. And even with amphibious viechles or those with deep fording (and you'd need some seriously deep fording to drive through the Suez canal) it tends to be rather challenging, unless, of course, you're objecting to the use of the term "natural" when describing a canal, which is of course man-made (but generally not with the intention of stopping tanks).
