What happens when you get the three rings of death on an xbox 360

have just been scanining fo a resolution of the three rings of death, and have just found the towel trick! Which worked for around 2 hours. now I'm tearing my xbox apart because the soldering on my unit has gone fubar!

Damn you Microsoft for using the cheap workarounds!

Or you could do the sensible method and send it off to Microsoft for repair.

...which you can't do now as you've voided the warranty by opening it up.

take a rest, ps3 boys. just cause your girly hands aren't big enough for a proper 360 controller ;P
the towel thing only works short periods, constantly decreasing after each time. just ruins the warranty. just send it in for a new one.
there is a penny tryck you can try which i found on youtube.

i may add that i've never had issues with my 360 premium.

I could cry for you Matrox, my kids have had theres 2 years and it has been back 3 times already. I really wish i had got them a WII, the thing has been nothing but 300 quids worth of pain in the ****

I wouldnt mind if it was hot round here, but i live in mild-at-best UK, never put my heating on as i am too tight, and they have ventilation all around the thing!!

Do you keep it clean? Do you play it regularly? Do you cherish it? If yes then that's where you've gone wrong. Mine's buried under clothes and gets used about once a month when I want to play with some friends on Live.

Some people are just careless with their possessions!

I got mine about 3 years ago, and the warranty ran out two months ago. instead of sending it to Microsoft for £100 to see if they could repair it, I thought i would DIY it and buy a new one for £130. I can't play Pro Evo soccer with the lads anymore!
