need help with my internet, browsing is cutting off!

I have road runner installed here, and iv had the tech guys come in about 3 times in a two year span to fix this similar issue. The last time he stripped the cable at the end since it was rusted. I think it might be it again, but before i call the technician again, i wonder if anybody else knows a solution to this.

I have about 3 web browsers that i tried using for normal browsing. I like to tab things, but i dont have more than 4 tabs open in general. When i start browsing, everything seems fine, then every tab just stops responding to the internet. It behaves as if my internet got cut off. I have to wait about 30 seconds, and then its back to normal. But this happens CONSTANTLY.

The weird part is, that when i play video games online, i never get an interruption. Im always the one with lowest ping and i have a good uninterrupted game.

But it cant be the web browser im using since i use two main ones, internet explorer, and google chrome. They both exhibit the same problem.

Should i call a technician to replace the cable from the outside?? Or is there a general internet setting i have off?

If you can play games it isn't the connection. Try firefox.

Also open task manager and when it locks up look at the memory and cpu usage for the browsers.

scar face its not my browser, im using 3 different ones, they are all giving me the same exact problem. Firefox included. That was my third problematic browser as well. My computer is directly plugged in, but i am also under a router. The router is not interfering since this problem came about 2-3 months ago tops. Its just getting hella annoying now.
Task manager wise, i dont bother anymore, i used to, but i have a quad core, so... yeah... it better not be my chip, lol.

-It's a router issue. You either have to change the settings or scrap the router because it's crap.

EDIT: Try this out; stream music in the background, then start surfing. Your connection should not drop out(Unless the stream drops, in which case you restart the stream). It's got something to do with packet drops when the connection idles. I had this and the router was crap so I had to get a new one.

Yea, I have the same issue at home. I use firefox, but whatever game I'm playing it USUALLY works fine. And if I'm mid-game, it doesn't get cut off.

I have verizon FIOS. I used to always think it was something related to me usin a lot of bandwidth while the TVs were goin haha.
