Re: Max Payne (Film Discussion)

I rememeber back however many years... I tried playing the first game because I heard so much about it.

I couldnt get past the first hour or so... it was just too.. Well, let me playback in my head how I recall the first bit playing out[keep in mind that by this point its all a silly characature of how is probably really was]
Quote:
"I walked down the desolate dark cold alley to the corner of that dark desolate street of black night in the darkness. I turn the corner onto that sad, lonely child of a street and stood before that dark, desolate fence of darkness. I pushed it open with a solemn push and it gloomily creaked open with the cry of a thousand aborted babies. I walked in. The clouds above me were dark as the darkest dark dark you can imagine. It was dark. The whole world... Dark."
Am I remembering incorrectly or was that really how the game was? Because when I played it years ago I just had to stop because I found it trying too hard to sound dark instead of just letting me FEEL it was dark. Instead I felt like I was getting bashed over the head with the darkest club of darkness that the darkest dark night could afford...

Although after watching the movies trailer I see Mark Wahlberg is the lead role... that alone might be reason enough for me to rent this when I get home

the movie was very entertaining.

I think it was the best video game movie ever made.
It had the right lighting, right music, right dialogue, overall right feel. I don't know about the plot as I never got to the end of max payne, but it was similar to the video game in many ways.

It was pretty well made and pretty entertaining. It's not an oscar winner so don't go expecting that. It was good.

Wrong, first Mortal Kombat was very good fighting movie. It looks nothing now comparing to classics, but in 1995 it was awesome.

As for Payne, I hope FOX guys will burn in hell for PG-13 rating for this film. It's like say to Max Payne personally: "Max, you are sissy faggot, live with this. Hahaha". I wonder what will Gears of War movie look like: no chainsaws, no strong language, what more?

Addendum: It maybe sounds ridiculous, but I always thought about Johnny Knoxville or Dean Winters as possible Paynes, not Wahlberg.

If it is as good as hitman, it will be grand.

Im going to see it purely because Mila Kunis is in it, and that means its good by default. Who wouldnt enjoy seeing her for like 2 hours?

Hitman was actually pretty decent, I agree. Surprisingly good. A bit cheesy but hell, its Hitman.

And could you resize your sig image to be no wider than 550 pixels? Right now its just... a taaaaaad too long and over what's allowed by the forum rules

Thanks

Its funny because I really think hollywood mixed up movies here.

Hitman should of been what max payne was (in the theathers)

and max payne should been like hitman.

that way you get max payne to be the action movie it should of been, while hitman the detective-like film it should been.
