Re: Why is this site so slow?

I've just installed firefox and it is definately quicker, so thanks for the advice.
However, how the hell do you stop it from trying to 'help' by filling in what I am trying to type in the address bar.
I don't always want the wife to know what I've been looking at.
Eg, the wife starts typing http://www.next.co.uk and as soon as she gets to www.n___, firefox is convienently trying to suggest www.nudebabes.com is what she is after!
Not that I ever look at nude women on the net, no sir'ee, never ever, never!

Help guys!

P.s,
how can I open a page in a new window without it being maximised each time? I don't want it minimized, just a small window is fine.

Re: Why is this site so slow?

I just realised, it's searching from my bookmarks. I have some of my more dubious ones in folders within the bookmarks if you get what I mean.
I can't see anything in the options to stop it filling in from bookmarks. Anyone know how to do it?

For naughty bookmarks, save them in a notepad file somewhere safe.

For naughty history, use Stealther, it makes the browser accept no history, cookies, etc.

sounds strange that ie would be slower than firefox.

and i like firefox better than opera and safari cause of 3 reasons: noscript, flagfox and cooliris <3

It's not only browsers.
Database optimization and some cleansing would help, I guess site admins doing it from time to time.

What's so strange abut it?

Turn 360 degrees and walk away is what you should do tbh.

Because you dont pay for it probably.

Remember kids, the internet works in reverse, if its free its good, if you pay it sucks.
