Ladderplay for L4D isn't that great of an idea imho. Too random, too much based on luck.

what i would love to see is the other players flashlights (not just the beams) kinda like how they ahve it in quake 4.

How well are the beams done anyway? Do they go through stuff? How do the shadows look?

from the view of a light operator in a professional theatre i can say that the shadows have most of the time strange angles. you wouldnt see it that way in rl with a lamp at your gun.
but beside that, your lamp throw a shadow from all objects, inkl. teammates, you light at..

Yea, but people will actually stick around in games. They also won't be complete suckasses, so you get a decent challenge instead of ending the game 5000+ to 100.
