Is the javelin the best AT weapon?

If project reality has taught us anything, it's that Molotov Cocktails are the single most powerful anti armour weapon ever. EVER.

In seriousness, the Spike ATGM is probably a contender and it does come with eletro optical tracking (think BF2 TV missile) which the Javelin current versions lack.

Of course, current Javelins can also lock on to people in the right conditions, but who's comparing features right?

IMO the Spike has a huge flaw over the Jav which is that it requires a Tripod if you want to make any good shot.

They do. Got a pesky sniper with known insurgents around him. Javelin it Todays modern warfare which is against insurgents means that we won't ever really come up against tanks, so Javelin vs infantry is being used.

In real life the Jav is used vs infantry ALOT. In fact, its one of the main weapons to take out snipers since it out ranges snipers. It is also used alot in Afghanistan where there is not 1 sign of a tank but instead its used against compounds etc over and over again. Like it or not, AT weapons vs infantry is realistic.

Hence why people complaining about HAT sniping don't realise just quite how realistic it is.
