Default EA cans FPS C&C

Guess they saw the difficulties with the player base figuring out what they are doing?

'Command & Conquer' shooter canned

Spinoff shooter Tiberium has been cancelled by publisher EA.

The squad-based first-person-shooter, announced in January, was pushed back to 2010 earlier this year.

However EA confirms it has been cancelled due to quality issues and those working on the game have been shifted to other projects.

Speaking to Kotaku, a spokesperson for EA said: "The game was not on track to meet the high quality standards set by the team and by the EA Games Label. A lower quality game is not in the best interest of the consumers and would not succeed in this market."

Tiberium was set in the Command & Conquer universe, featuring squad-based tactics using the Unreal 3 Engine.

The shooter was originally planned for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

meh, not surprised really it was going to be a niche market and plenty of publishers are streamlining their linups, Activision for example dropped some vivendi games IGN: Activision Drops Several Vivendi Games and Microsoft is dropping Ensemble videogaming247 » Blog Archive » Microsoft to close Ensemble after Halo Wars’ completion

I guess they are all battering down the hatches for the upcoming financial hard times

Quality control, lol. The game was too good which would make all the other EA titles look bad.

Low quality... more like: sry but unfortunately there aren't halfway enough potential buyers for this kind of game.

Do not <3 EA
