I have to admit that video kind of just lowered my opinion of the IDF.

I know our military has its share of knuckle heads but to fire on civilians with a damn tank! Wow that takes the cake.

Now I don't mean to sound like an asshat even though I realize I probably am going to come off that way and I don't mean to justify the fact that the tank shot at civilians but goading a tank isnt exactly the smartest thing.

Not to mention iron wasn't it you who on these very forums whenever a negative thing to the US ARMY (Kids chasing water bottles) is posted or wherever it LOOKS like civilians are getting shot at you come in and say that its just that person, doesn't represent the army and that people don't know the full story behind it etc (which is true).

Agree to some degree, Either the tank crew was geting annoyed and in fustrustion took a shot, or there was a threat that was they needed to elimate...but they didnt need to use a full cannon round. A quick spurt from the .50 cal would have worked.

Yeah something dumb like that. Had the Israelis cursed at them or w.e i would have shrugged and said thats the nature of the job, but thats a 60 ton tank firing on some stupid civilians! I know in our military that kind of shit is SERIOUSLY discouraged and we are told to never do shit like that. So that shows a lack of discipline or training in that regard on the part of the IDF. And if that tank crew got away with that then thats even worse.

In our military when a moron throws a puppy off a cliff it warrants an investigation so i hope those morons in that tank got some of the same. I mean dont get me wrong the IDF is still pretty much win but all im saying is that lost some respect points with me.

EDIT: Ive never seen no videos of our military firing on civies or even appear to fire on civies. Though I did see some dumb ass Army n00bs throw a flash bang at some civies and that lowered my opinion of our Army a bit too.

as for our small Political Debate here , i agree with Iron . ur defending the IDF for no Reason , and i realy dont know why u call them The Israeli "DEFENCE" force , because when u defend its ur country or rather something that belongs to u , and Palestine dosnt belong for them ( The Israeli people that is) !

Merkava is slightly more then 60 ton
Anyway, you can't really see much from that video, all you see is 2 kids goading the tank and then the tank fires, I somehow doubt that its really the entire incident, we don't know what was behind the cameraman or what was going on prior to that.
You really think that a 4-man crew would fire at 2 kids and cameraman for no reason and..miss??
IDF has strict ROE, in fact you are not allowed to fire live ammunition at rock throwers, only rubber bullets.
