Re: Anti Virus Virus
I have fixed the problem...I hope/think.
Got a mate to email me the installer for firefox since I couldn't get it. Then started up avast in dos mode, so it ran a scan before windows even started...managed to get some malware gens and all sorts of crap I couldn't get before. Then destroyed the old firefox and installed the new one. Then ran as many anti virus programs I have/have been suggested and caught a few more things. Currently clean of everything that I can catch, no more hijacked firefox links so far. All looking good atm. |

Re: Anti Virus Virus
I use Avast, windows firewall and also inbuilt router firewall. I also use adaware.
If I suspect a nasty has slipped through, I go here Trend Micro HouseCall - Free Online Virus and Spyware Scan - Trend Micro UK It's a free online scanner and it is brilliant. dont click on install activeX boxes when you are surfing pr0n, or 'click here to win!' If the install box wont go away and you cant close your browser just end the process from task manager, never click ok, or install |

Re: Anti Virus Virus
Kaspersky is the best and the way to go
PC Pro: Product Reviews: Labs: Antivirus software They offer a 30 day trial at their site. I managed to get lucky at the local electronics store offered a $70 mail in rebate so I managed to pay only a few bucks for tax. My previous ones Norton (we all know how bad) and NOD32, works alright but didnt detect trojans that much. Kaspersky fixes things even after i download a "bad file" off somewhere. |

Re: Anti Virus Virus
Hmm, my home computer has no AV or FW, because I don't need it. I do install one every few months to run a scan and it has yet to find anything, once completed I uninstall it again. I surf safe.
Comodo is good and free, also Avira Antivir has a free AV that is top notch, and an even better one you can buy. |
