Safari isn't open source - in fact I think that until quite recently Apple charged for it. Its based on the webkit engine ( same as chrome ) and that is open source.

Re: Internet Browsers

Explains all -

I was originally a IE user and wouldn't change over since all others were useless, But then I saw my wrong doings and tried Firefox and have been in love with it ever since.

So much faster compried to IE, I get 0 pop ups while on Firefox...but a boat load on IE. Firefox is a hell of a lot more versatile compaired to IE, and I can have as many or as little add ons as I like without then getting shoved down my throat...like I do on IE *IE opens 20 windows, do you want the sports scores? what about what time it is in a place you have no reaon to know? well how about some more usles things?...then proceeds to attempt auto installing some*

As non of the others appear to have 1/2 the features Opera has... thats why i use it.. however it's therefore not a simple browser... but a whole suite of apps rolled into one.
And it talks to me is a sexy voice.

I use firefox for all my browsing needs and its served me well so far.

firefox, cant live without mouse gestures, yes im lazy but having to move the mouse to the back button is a pain in the ass. Also IE is too slow, and never got the hang of opera. google chrome? dont like the theme puts me right off.

You don't have your mouse set up so the thumb buttons are back and forward?

Add-ons I love

Adblock Plus (which will never be in a google browser)

Better Flickr

Download Statusbar - one of the best ex. ever, should be built in to FF permanent

FireShot

Foxmarks

Get Directions from Google Maps

Greasemonkey

ImageBot ---!!!! use this a couple times and you will be posting pics everywhere, imageshack was never so easy!!!!

Make Link -- Lets you highlight anything and make a link to it, including a fourm link back to a page with just the text. Of course if you are good with HTML and stuff, it is pretty easy to do, but why when you can just right click on something and it is automatic

PicLens---wow, this should be built into firefox

Resizeable Textarea-- lets you expand any text area, like this box I am talking in now. awesome!

Smart Bookmarks Bar -- check out this pic which I am posting with imagebot-- you can see I resized my text area and notice what my toolbar links look like- no text in the way! Pic was taken with the Fireshot add-on listed above

and finally

Stealther

Stylish

And those are just some of the ones I use constantly
