You don't have to agree with every change in PR. You do have to raise concerns legitimately, and slagging off the testing team (and calling them a bunch of yes-men is insulting) and bitching about the lack of "free speech" in here is crappy attitude.

No-one's asking you to bend over and take it from the Dev team. They are asking that when you have feedback, you raise it constructively not insult the testers. They are asking that you respect the forum rules and that if you have a problem with moderation, you raise it appropriately.

Whining because a Dev doesn't agree that the testers are all yes-men or because a Moderator temp-bans someone for calling the moderators "Ignorant Tossers"? That's stupid.

Well tbh I think its a bit of the Old vs young syndrome :

- The Veterans/Old geezers have done/seen/heard it all and have become very blasé

While

- The newbies/youngsters keep bunny hopping everywhere while exited from rediscovering the wheel.

Of course there's a lot other things, but in a nutshell I'd say that's the main reason

I try to be helpful when I can, but after seeing the amount of posts and join date of Blackhawk5, I knew it was a joke, hence my reply!!

But I do try and help people out and ask them kindly too search, it's common courtesy apart from anything, treat others as you wish to be treated. I'm not really a forum old hand, but I have been here since 0.4 so know my way around the mod pretty well IMO, but even then, never insult people over something that they yes could have searched, but if you look the first few posts of all the old hands, I'm sure they were not the perfect 'noobies' either

I don't mind questions being asked that have already been asked or a point being raised that has already been discussed.
What annoys me more is people replying with "USE THE SEARCH" just to get a +1 postcount.
Some people aren't into trawling through threads, they may not be into forums at all, they may have just registered to "join the growing community" and say "hello and btw why does this do that, why wont this do that?" only to get linked to threads from 5 forum pages back and a reply of search related abuse.

so long as the front Forum page isn't full of threads of the same topic then there shouldn't be a problem imo. Link to the other threads sure, the person creating the thread obviously missed it and you may point him to the info he is after, but don't be impolite about it.
