Default Bovington LAN diary

Hey all,

I've been granted to come and write a little about the Bovington LAN, document it with pictures, share some of the fun with those that couldn't come and show the networld what a nice community PR is.

Publication of the material will be in different versions, here in this thread you will see a diary of my travel and experiences at the LAN. There will be a few other versions eventually with pictures and even a few warstories. Pending Dev approval on where and how it will be published. This thread is just to get me started.

Be prepared for a looong read.

Lan,
Lost Platoon

There are multiple ways of navigating Coppermine libraries, look for the small icons and you will see a explanation. You can even start a slideshow or pack them into a zip file for download.

Note: This is the first time ever I've tried to write this much text in english in one go, my apologies if it is impossible to follow, in my opinion, not my best and most humorous work. I can do a lot better on design of documents but I've already spent nearly 20 hours on this so I gotta draw the limit even if it looks a bit crude. The main document was also composed of 5 separately written documents and could be improved, maintaining the red thread line a bit more.

Changelog
11 sept - Update: Began traveling and writing diary.

Some real fun as you'll see on the images.

Cheers ppl

Haha, sorry dude but I am still traveling. Stopover at a friends place, just landed in Sweden. Up in 4 hours and catching a train to work - won't be home until monday evening.

But pics are coming, I'll do some batch processing and put them up ASAP. Tuesday evening is likely as I will be thrashed on monday eve from traveling.

Stay tuned

Enjoy London mate and have a safe journey home.

Looking forward to see what you've collected over the weekend.

Hey Smeg and thanks. I made it safely home yesterday evening, I definatly have to come back to London for a few more days but now I know the basics of infrastructure and currency

Over a thousand photo's, the download has taken 1 hour and still going (suspect I plugged into a old USB port on that puter). Photo editing to begin later on, depending when dl is done. Final usable count of pictures will be around 400 I guess. 100 of the LAN and people, 100 of the vehicle demo, 200 from the tank museum.

Writing the full event diary, including three match reports. nearly nine pages done so far. Will break it apart into match 1, 2, 3 and a complete account of the whole weekend.

It's fun

Been writing non-stop for three hours, I'm gonna peek into a game for a half hour before I head to sleep.

Finished the account of the weekend, need to write the notes of the interview plus two match reports (one finished) and process the pictures tomorrow night.

Sorry guys, there's not enough hours in one day. :P

When ever you make a post the thread becomes awesome NickO, but that is beside the point.

NickO, I'll take a plane, fly to Sweden and personally ban you from the Internet.
