Medieval 2: Total war - Tax Rate

Playing a campaign and running into money troubles atm, I cant seem to change the tax rate says I need a family member or something in the city but it doesn't matter if I move a family member or faction heir into the city (I cant even change the tax rate of my capital and it has my king in it. Any ideas?

It should be somewhere at the bottom of the city management screen.

If you're running into money troubles, make sure you have trade rights with everyone you can and make sure there's no enemy armies in your territories (they disrupt trade).

Nope, no option for it. Although since the pope died I am able to negociate with everyone and instead of doing it for cardinal votes im just doing trade rights lol.

Tarantyco is right, just go to options and choose something like "administer everything", then you can set your tax rates.

Nah, option is not there Im playing on easy

But yeah I screwed myself up by giving myself florins (dont look at me that way!) to get out of the -, then I got attacked and was only getting like 64 profit each turn so I gave myself more florins (I know, I know!) to build up some units, like 15 turns later I have built a huge army and huge cities (my army upkeep alone is 16K and im only getting around 8K a turn I think.

So now I have to keep giving myself florins and build up my trades only I can get out of the -

Sounds like you owned yourself with hax.

There's also an option to select at the start of the campaign to do with governing cities, I'm not sure if it's changeable after you set it. Maybe you missed it?
