Man, that really would be bad ass. One can only hope that we live long enough to see things like that.

Did a bit of study on Nanotech and in particular Nano-Factories during Chemical Engineering last semester. You know.. This really isn't that far off once the science at the atomic level is cracked you'll see some crazy breakthroughs.

Wish I could find the video we had. It was a tiny factory capable of making "morphing" laptops at an atom by atom scale to produce every one perfectly the same.

Pushed into the war zones."

Of course, it will never end up looking exactly like that - no concept work ever does - but I can see something along those rough lines occurring within the next 50 years, no doubt.

I'm sure there are some oversights Nokia's designers have made, simply because we are living in the year 2008 and technological advances that our grandchildren might take for granted someday are completely unknown to us in the present. Think of this technology as being to us what 2008's technology would have been to someone in 1968: so futuristic as to be abstract, but yet practical at the same time.

Thought the mountains would crumble and the rivers would bend,
But I thought it all wrong and the world did not end.

Welcome, 2009!

20 years to see the concept for some of that working, twice that to see it so common it can be used in everyday devices i would say.

Would be easier if you could just interface with the phone without the lousy nanotech keyboard, you just "jack" into it when its wrapped around your wrist.
