I wonder if they used cheaper old first gen P4s - the ones that are only like 1.4 ghz

also I wonder if they had the locking pin/lever down on the chips before the things took off like rockets, I couldnt see...

Uh...you guys do know that they were using fire-crackers to make them explode, right? CPUs don't just exploded when you take the heatsink off. They can burn, yes, but that will just cause some smoke, a bad smell, and a blackened chip. There is nothing in a CPU that will cause it to explode with enough force to punch a hole in a motherboard.
