Re: Post here youre Super Pi score

1M in 17s. No screenie because I can't be assed.

Stock: E6750 (2.66Ghz 1333Mhz FSB 1.3500v)

Current: 3.20Ghz (8x400) 1600Mhz FSB and 1.3750v) - CPU-Z Validator 2.1 Cooled on air only, and not a lot of it at that.

Worth noting that Super-Pi is single-threaded so you Quad-Core users don't see any benefit over the rest of us lol.

Cooling with fans rather than a water cooling system which is quieter and more efficient ( and more expensive )

Yep, as spacemanc said. Your computer is "by air" right now. It is just fans doing all the cooling.

But besides water, there are also really hard core things like Nitro cooling and others that extreme overclockers use. The fact that it is up that high on air and is stable enough to run PI means it is a really good CPU. A full 1.0+ overclock on air is a very good thing

And more dangerous!

If your pump goes, or you spring a leak, you loose the system when it overheats.

And obviously if you're using a coolant that's conductive (like water), you run the risk of toasting the entire system at a moment's notice.

No matter HOW well you seal everything you always run the risk of a leak, with disasterous consequences. At worst you toast everything, at best you just gunk up your motherboard.

Until I'm earning so much money I can afford to replace my entire rig at a moment's notice with an equilvant spec PC (i.e.: "never" on nurse pay!), I wouldn't touch a liquid-cooling system.

Re: Post here youre Super Pi score

I'm quite upset, I just ran 3DMark06 for the first time since upgrading my GPU... whilst it's pulled my score up massively, what was my lovely fast E6750 is now letting me down, and I barely make the average/most-common score *sniff sniff*.
